Alabama requires LLCs to file both with the Secretary of State AND with the county probate court where the LLC's principal office is located. This dual-filing requirement adds time and cost. Our $395 fee covers both filings. Despite the higher cost, Alabama remains one of the more business-friendly states in the Gulf South.

Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama do not legally require an operating agreement, but it is strongly recommended. An operating agreement defines member rights, profit distribution, and management structure — and is often required by banks to open a business bank account. We recommend consulting an attorney to draft one after formation.

Your next steps are typically: (1) apply for an EIN from the IRS, (2) open a business bank account, (3) draft an operating agreement, and (4) check annual report requirements in your state. We offer EIN application as a separate $50 add-on service.

Your first year of registered agent service is included in the formation fee. After year one, registered agent service continues at $100/year per state. You will receive an annual renewal reminder before your service expires — and your documents continue forwarding automatically.
